Imagine living in the same home or condo that some of Hollywood's finest have stayed in and better yet, they are your landlords. Sounds like something from a 90s sitcom, but in the world of real estate, this is reality. After some of their homes faltered on the selling block, some actors and actresses decided to go the rental route, renting out homes that could be up to $6 million dollars for about $18,000 a month in rent. If you have the cash, you can live the life in a celebrities rental unit.
Naomi Watts (Birdman, King Kong) and Liev Schreiber (X-Men: Origins) decided to rent their stunning Brentwood villa after it failed to attract a buyer on the market. Once they put their $6 million dollar villa up for rent, they had a tenant within the month that was willing to pay the $18,500 a month rental fee.
Billionaire Oprah Winfrey has so much money she bought a condo in Chicago and decided not even to move in, instead offering up the $5.6 million dollar condo to rent for $15,000 a month. Since the housing market is poor in Chicago, having fallen approximately 30% since 2007, it seemed like the best move for Winfrey to make until the market improves and she is able to unload the property without coming up short.
Other celebrities such as Meg Ryan rented out her lavish Bel Air estate at a whopping $40,000 a month, while Nicole Kidman offered her lavish New York City condo located in West Village this March for $45,000 a month.
