15 Bad Estate Agent Photos

Posted : 12/09/2016 | By Amanda Hosking

When renting or selling a house the photographs taken by the estate agent are very important. These photographs are the first look into a house before renters/buyers book a viewing. If they do not like what they see they may not make the decision to view. This shows that it is all about making a good first impression with quality professional photos.

An estate agent should also advise on issues such as tidying away certain objects and how to lay out the rooms. Simple changes can make a big difference as to how a room looks.
.
Below are some shocking photographs of houses for rent/sale. A viewing was probably not on the cards here.

1. The Red Arrow
This arrow is supposed to be pointing to the house that is for sale, however there are so many houses in the area it is impossible to tell which one it is. Better to take a close up image from outside the house.

2. Two Toilets
The idea of couples sharing everything has gone a bit too far here. One toilet should be removed before selling so as to not put off renters/buyers.

3. Personal Décor
We all have our own personal tastes when it comes to decorating a house, as seen to the extreme here. However, to sell a house it is best to have it as neutral as possible.

4. Man in the Pool
When advertising a feature piece of the property such as a communal pool it is not best practice have someone in the shot.

5. Personal Belongings
When selling, rooms should be kept clean and tidy. Personal belongings such as the many dolls above should be stored away to avoid scaring off buyers.

6. No House
On this photo it appears that there is no actual house for sale, just land.

7. Mystery Guest
Probably best to take the photograph without the special guest.

8. Mr Fox
This house appears to come with a life size fox, this should have been stored away.

9. Clown
This is enough to scare anyone off viewing a house…

10. Utility Room
This is a very cramped room indeed.

11. Outdoor Pursuits
Maybe not the best way to advertise a house when all the focus is on the bright yellow canoe.

12. Kitchen Toilet
Another impractical toilet situation that would certainly put someone off buying/renting a house.

13. Untidy Kitchen
This photograph should not have been taken until this kitchen was given a full clean and tidy.

14. Too Much Colour
Pink bed, wardrobes, curtains, rugs…this is all too much.

15. Haunted House
This photo is such low quality that it seems like it is featuring in a horror film.
