A Bromley landlord obviously mindful of ‘beds in sheds’ damning media coverage, has advertised an ‘unfurnished wooden outbuilding’ in the back of his garden on a flat sharing website.
The advertisement describes the wooden building as a ‘lovely log cabin,’ it also explains that it does not have a bathroom or kitchen; many feel that it should have been described as a shed.
The ‘log cabin’ however provides the ‘lucky’ tenant with ‘a view of the garden,’, the ‘shed’ has in total three rooms, one which is described as ‘large’ plus two smaller ones. It boasts air con, as well as heating and a fridge. The south London outbuilding is available for a monthly rent of £550.
The advert also says that the property is located in a ‘quiet location’ which has ‘good transport links,’ near to St Mary Cray station and the shopping centre.
The advert says: ‘Log cabin to rent, large room and two smaller rooms, unfurnished but does include heating and air con, fridge and internet. Fully carpeted and double glazed windows with view of garden. Full shared use of kitchen and bathroom in main house. Quiet location.’
Bromley council has sent out an inspector to view the outbuilding and from their report they will then contact the landlord.
