As reported in an earlier story of a suspected murder of a Welsh landlord Alec Warburton, his body has been found in North Wales. The South Wales police had contacted the Gardaí to extradite the landlord’s tenant who was being detained in the Republic of Ireland.
The landlord’s body was uncovered in a North Wales country village in Dolwyddelan, late September. Concerned neighbours reported Mr. Warburton’s disappearance over a month ago and the ensuing police investigation found his lodger David Ellis had fled to Galway.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: “The body located near the village of Dolwyddelan in North Wales on Sunday has been formally identified as that of 59-year-old Alec Warburton, from Swansea. A post mortem was conducted in North Wales yesterday when identification procedures were carried out. Mr. Warburton’s death is being treated as murder and we are continuing to offer support to his family at this difficult time.”
Ellis should be back in Wales and officers will be questioning him in relation to the murder. The spokesman concluded: “A European Arrest Warrant was granted earlier today in respect of Mr. Ellis, which will be executed in Ireland prior to an extradition court hearing.”
