Recent research claims that nearly 400,000 out of approximately the UK's 1.5 million private landlords, have had their properties damaged by tenants.
It states the worst area where this is happening is the North East, as nearly a half of landlords, 46%, have experienced occurrences of their tenants causing damage to their "homes" in the last twelve months.
In stark contrast the South East has suffered less with just 21% of landlords suffering from these incidents. There are also guesstimates that around 8% of landlords, 120,000, in the UK have had to make insurance claims in the past twelve months.
Richard Merrick of PIMS said: " Despite the economy recovering, in some areas of the country they are still experiencing hardship in depressed regions and sometimes people will vent their frustrations on anything.
