Property management specialists have polled 500 British landlords and found that one in three landlords have to endure ridiculous demands made on them by their tenants. They are saying that they had no idea that their full time role would be so emotionally taxing.
One of the main reasons is that 76% of landlords know that their tenants have no inkling of what their responsibilities, as a tenant, should entail; it can be so bad at times that 10% of landlords are suffering from anxiety issues because of their tenant’s conduct.
Some landlords are feeling prisoners as their tenants believe that they should be available every hour of every day, over a third had received phone calls from tenants past midnight demanding they get to property. The majority of calls outs are for minor issues with having to change a light bulb accounting for 19%, loss of their keys at 19% and unblocking drains which topped the lot at 23%.
