Shared ‘Party House’ landlord is fined for tenants’ unsociable behaviour

8th Jan 2016

After causing months of considerable irritation to the neighbours of a shared house because of partying, drug taking and general anti-social behaviour, the landlord of the property has been slapped with a fine of just under £1,000.

The Worthing landlord received the court fines and legal fines when admitting to ‘poor and unsafe property management.’

His tenants of the five bed roomed property had been responsible for causing months of frustration to nearby residents and at long last the numerous complaints by the neighbours of drug use, noise and anti-social behaviour that were sent to the police and the council, they finally won the day.

On Friday December 18 (2015), the landlord appeared in Worthing Magistrates’ Court because of the prosecution by Adur and Worthing councils' legal department.

Upon entering into the property council officers discovered that the house in multiple occupation, had many fire and safety breaches. They found inadequate fire safety precautions and detection, blocked escape routes and the gas and electrical systems were in dire need of proper maintenance.
