FINAL Warning - All deposits even before 2007 MUST be protected 1st Jun 2015 If any tenant has paid ANY deposit pre 6th April 2007 such MUST be protected in a deposit scheme before 23 June 2015 and the prescribe information MUST be issued Failure to comply entitles the tenant to seek mandatory compensation for up to six years after the end of the tenancy. In addition failure to protect is likely to invalidate the Landlords right to evict using the section 21 Notice [penalties for non-compliance as set out in Section 214 of the Housing Act 2004] see prevention of service of Section 21applies.
