Important - Rent Smart Wales – Reminder Deadline

26th Oct 2015

The Welsh Government’s ‘Rent Smart Wales’ is being introduced on November 23, so this is a timely reminder for landlords and agents renting out ‘homes’ in Wales, that it is mandatory for them to register for a licence.

From November 23rd (2015) agents and landlords will have twelve months to be accepted within the scheme and to receive a license, otherwise they will be breaking the law. During this time the Welsh Government will be raising ‘Rent Smart Wales’ profile and will be supplying all the necessary information and requirements for those needing to join up.

The Welsh Government’s intentions are to improve standards and the image of private landlords and agents. It says that Rent Smart Wales will banish bad practices of the few that tarnish the sector.

Further information is available at www.rentsmart.gov.wales
