The government has just released information of its new How To Rent and How To Let guides which will be issued this Friday (Mar 17th).
The last updates were issued in 2021 during the pandemic’s first year.
Landlords must from 17th March at the start of any new tenancy provide their tenants with this latest guide and the same applies to when renewing a statutory periodic tenancy.
This of course is part of the prescribed information that landlords have to legally provide to renters, otherwise they will not be able to repossess their property via Section 21.
The guides’ new updates include some of the recent regulations changes, such as fitting CO2 alarms in any room that has a fixed fuel burning appliance, and that EICRs must also be given to tenants.
The guides also features how to fit smart meters as well as a standalone section on making sure a property is suitable for a disabled tenant.
The new updated versions of the How To Rent and How To Let guides can be downloaded from the Gov.UK website this Friday 17th March.
