There will be tens of thousands of tenants who will be left in dire circumstances because of the ever destructive Covoid – 19 pandemic.

There is bound to be tenants who have become ill - not just through Coronavirus infection – as well as those caring for their family and relatives who will be undoubtedly distraught as to how they can afford to pay their rent.

However there is one example of a kind hearted and extremely generous landlord who has stepped up to the mark. The landlord is helping his self employed tenant by giving him a five month rent holiday because of the outbreak.

Paul Bradshaw, from Loughborough in Leicestershire, has told his tenant a father of four, in spite of him being in rental arrears before the virus surfaced, he is giving him a five months respite from having to pay his rent. This is because the tenant’s earnings will be non-existent and the government’s aid for self employed persons will not be forthcoming until the end of May at the earliest.

Bradshaw said that other landlords have already been in contact telling him that they had "done similar" for their tenants.

32 year old Paul posted about his actions on Twitter asking landlords to at least consider doing what is “morally correct”.

Bradshaw said: "I think the word profit just needs to be forgotten about right now and everybody just needs to try and break even through this.

"People that owe money to those self-employed, people that have got invoices outstanding - I think we all have a responsibility right now just to try and help people in any way that we can."
