The report released by a buy to let mortgage lender, states that only 16% of landlords will be selling up or cutting down the number of properties they own over the next year.
The research also says that 45 % of landlords prefer to invest in two to four bedroomed properties and 11% of BTL investors have registered as limited companies to carry out their day to day PRS 'business'.
Half of the landlords that took part in the survey believe that the government's tax changes were responsible for the number of landlords leaving the sector; only 1% felt that the tax and regulatory changes had improved housing standards in the PRS.
The research found that 15% of landlords have sought specialist tax advice for their portfolios and just under half - 42% - have used a specialist BTL mortgage broker when applying for new loans.
