Green Deal Summary
The Climate Change Act 2008 requires that the UK reduces carbon emmisions from 1990 levels 0f 34% by 2020 and upto 80% by 2050.
The Government’s Green Deal offers landlords and home owners the opportunity of making their properties more energy efficient by improving their properties with savings made against future bills or repaying costs via their bills over a longer period it is implied any up-front cost to the landlord is refundable but you MUST check this with service provider for we are receiving feedback contrary to this. Green Is it the Real Deal for Landlords ) Such costs may include insulation - eg loft or cavity wall insulation, heating, draught-proofing, double glazing, renewable energy technologies - eg solar panels or wind turbines
Consequences for Landlords for failing to become energy efficient - It is proposed that after 2018 Landlords will be inelgible to rent properties that are energy inefficient
