Lying Tenant Storms off ITV’s Judge Rinder Show

Posted : 31/12/2015 | By Hayley Cowburn

Two tenants, Daniel and John claimed that their landlord harassed them with text messages and caused emotional distress. They wanted £1000 for the distress caused and an unreturned deposit. Landlord Brian said he never received a full deposit and counterclaimed for £1,694 in rent arrears, legal fees and damages.

Here’s how it all played out:

Tenants Daniel and John try to make their case with an awkward lack of evidence.

Rinder takes a look at the tenancy agreement and photographs of the property.

The tenants fail to remember about any contact with the council or Brian’s lawyer.

After one of the tenants storms out, Rinder is forced to rule without them.

The Aftermath.

Was justice served?
